We have created an application that allows us to look closely at each applicant on an individual basis. Once the application has been reviewed and verified, a decision is made by the board of the dollar amount needed for that child during the year. We will be providing assistance for a child of need in the racing industry at the Go-Kart, Bandoleros, Jr. Drag and Legends level. A ledger will be created to track the dollar amount used to provide assistance. The assistance will consist of several things; safety equipment such as protective suits, helmets and safety harness gear, parts, transportation and accommodations to and from out of town races as well as gas used during racing or practice. Assistance will also be used for safety classes and instructions, entry fees and registrations. We will be requiring participation in our YRA enrichment program which will consist of community service, public appearances, (ie., children’s hospital, Chamber of Commerce events and public schools); preparatory classes on media interviews, how to speak to corporate sponsors and how to represent your corporate sponsor, also education on drug and alcohol awareness. Each driver receiving assistance will be required to qualify and participate in their designated sport under the guidelines of that industries rules and regulations. At the end of the year, if there are funds leftover, they will roll back into the YRA account and be budgeted for the following year. At no time will money be given directly to a child.
